Why I finally paid for a course

I finally bit the bullet and signed up for a paid course from CGBoost called Robotic Planet World. I've already built the first robot twice — once following along and once flying solo — trying to engrave the lessons into my gray matter before I animate these tin cans to life. Who knows, maybe I'll create the next Wall-E… or at least a passable R2-D2 knockoff.

If you knew me, you'd know I'm as cheap as a dollar store umbrella. So why pay when YouTube's ocean of free content is a click away? Well — you get what you pay for. Only a third of the way through and I feel like I've already gotten my money's worth. I've learned things I'd never seen in hundreds of hours of free Blender videos.

Update — 7/30/24: After many hours doing and redoing the Fish Bot (part 2), I feel really confident with the new skills. Having the chapter reference to fall back on was worth it. Highly recommend for anyone, like me, caught between beginner and intermediate.
