The Swamp

Swamp scene rendered in Blender

Environmental work — an attempt to recreate a swamp scene for a client who works in them.

Freedom to create

I came across a quick 15-minute swamp-scene tutorial and thought I could adapt it into a video Christmas card for a client who works in and around marshlands. It was a real learning experience, and I was free to experiment with water simulations and Blender's physics.

Water, water everywhere

I really enjoyed playing with the Mantaflow water features. I wanted to push my graphics card and my knowledge of how to build a scene like this. I'm happy with the results, but I know now that Mantaflow takes a lot of patience and experimentation to truly master. Enjoy the final cut.
